This extremely rare and hard to find original Leica 50mm Summar F2 chrome rigid screw mount lens is in excellent condition cosmetically, mechanically and optically. Serial #186912. Of the nearly 125,000 examples of this lens produced only about 2000 were made with the rigid non collapsible barrel design of these examples nearly all were made in the early nickel finish. Even more rare were the extremely late 1933 serial number examples that were made in chrome finish. This is an extremely rare 1933 first year of production example with the chrome finish! Exact production numbers are unknown but this lens is rarer than hens teeth with probably less than a few hundred examples ever produced. Black meter focusing scale example with the infinity focusing lock. Front element does have some minor cleaning marks which is typical for this early non coated lenses. Lens has been tested and it does not affect image quality. Recently cleaned and serviced and comes with a clean bill of health. Comes with 3-month in-store warranty. in excellent condition overall.
