This extremely early and rare Leica Summicron 90mm f2 chrome M39 screw mount lens is in excellent condition cosmetically, mechanically and optically. Serial #1580705*. Desirable early chrome first version Midland lens with the reversible lens hood. Very rare, only 239 examples in M39 screw mount ever produced. Extremely early 1958 example. This version was only available for two years in screw mount before being discontinued. A very unusual asterisk serial number example. The '*' in the serial number was used by Leica to denote either a duplicate serial number that was used or a lens that was made specifically for internal Leica use only. Asterisk example lenses are extremely rare and highly sought after by collectors. To find an example for such a rare lens is probably a once in a life time opportunity! Lens shows very modest use on the barrel. In excellent condition overall. A must have.
