LEICA LEITZ 50MM SUMMICRON F2 SOOIC LANTHAR YELLOW GLASS EARLY #921265 LENS +CPS
First year, first batch production
Very early serial #
Made in Wetzlar Germany in 1951
Compact collapsible screw mount lens
Black feet focus scale version with infinity focus lock
This is a very desirable yellow lanthanum glass lanthar lens
There is a distinct difference with the Yellow glass over the later standard glass that Leica used. You can see the yellow tone in the glass. Very nice on the early lenses!
7 elements in 4 groups
E39 filter mount
Aperture range: f2 - f16
45° angle of view
Cat No. SOOIC
Metal original front and rear lens caps
No dings, dents or major marks
Barrel is very clean along with the caps!
A fine example!
Focusing ring is smooth - a touch tight
Aperture ring is crisp - also a touch tight
No fungus, separation or scratches
A very VERY faint haze that is insignificant and can be cleaned!
A very clean lens. Between the focus, aperture and the faint haze, this is a remarkable lens that needs a very simple and basic cleaning. It has not been serviced in decades and in fantastic condition considering. Very well kept and these are very minor issues with a basic CLA will be gone.
* I can recommend Youxin Ye or DAG camera as a service in the USA but also if you have a local tech as this is a very basic issue
A very example overall. Great YELLOW GLASS LANTHAR early 50mm F2 Summicron.
Rich Yellow glass in great condition without marks.
These lenses continue to rise and I sold a very early example recently for $3995.
Overall this is actually one of the nicest examples I have seen in a long time
Nice to have and enjoy!
