This beautiful, RARE unusual Leica MD 24x27 Postkamera chrome camera rangefinder body is maybe one of the finest and rarest cameras I have had the pleasure of seeing in the 20 years. Serial #987558. Made in 1963 and a very VERY rare camera as only 32 were made in the specific 24x27 format and with the desirable 35mm f2.8 Summaron.
AN AMAZING FIND!

Specially ordered by the German post offices and telephone companies in the 60's.. Features a built in fixed focus 35mm f2.8 lens with fixed shutter speed of 1/50 FLASH, and variable aperture ( when the built in screw on the top is released, otherwised fixed)  24x27mm film frame and a modified frame counter that goes up to 60. Only ever 32 examples with the 24x27mm frame. This camera is for sure more rare over an other production camera except for the MP2 ( only 15 made = $500,000-$1,000,000 )

There are some very unusual feature on this camera as most were fully fixed lenses but this is actually a removable BAYONET mount ( without a lock to release, just a simple turn release and mount)
Also, this serial # pre-dates its production. This must have been a special order, factory camera and truly a magnificent find/. Possibly being the 1st ever Post camera that was produced. INCREDIBLE!
