-Made in Wetzlar, Germany circa 1946-1947
-First year first batch production
-This camera started life as a Leica IIIC body, which was then
sent back to Leica to be upgraded to a IIIF Black Dial body.
The upgrade included the flash sync port on the rear of the top plate,
the flash sync dial around the shutter speed dial, the ISO reminder
in the film advance knob and the Self timer
This is a very VERY special camera for many reasons. Not only for the fact that it has the * duplicate indicator but also that this camera is THE 2nd IIIC post war body camera EVER MADE! WOW! Leica started the production at 400001 for the post war IIIc cameras which were totally different IIIC bodies. This is THE 2nd one every made. Then sent back to Leica in the 1950's to be upgraded and specially indicated * camera body! WOW!
