This is of the FIRST and smallest batch of lenses made. Only 200 produced in 1966. Of the 200, there were a few RANDOM version that have a THICKER FRONT RIM and actually physically a different lens.
Similar to the Leica M3 CORNER, they were random. This is exceptionally rare and truly a must have EARLIEST STYLE Noctilux FIRST BATCH THICK RIM! AMAZING!
Also, this comes complete with its 12503 shade along with its original and proper RARE WETZLAR EARLY LONG STYLE 14102P 52.5 front cap made

I have had the pleasure of offering many 50mm 1.2 Noctilux over the last 25+ years. I do think that this is THE Leica lens to have along side the 35mm f1.4 AA ASPHERICAL.

The 50mm f1.2 does hold a special place in my heart.
I can not stress the RARITY of this lens.

To find a Noctilux 1.2 is already rare, but to find an early 1st batch is even harder.
THEN, to have one with a THICK RIM with great glass is even more RARE.
Of the FEW that are in existence, only a fraction of those will come up for sale.
This lens is special in so many ways
A "blue chip" investment as well as these lenses have only gone up in value.
This lens will always attract a special level of customer and will continue to rise in value
I sold only a few THICK RIM lenses over the past 25 years it is especially nice to find one that is complete with proper caps, shade and especially such nice glass.
