Has Film Become Obsolete Yet?

Back in 2011, I had a great conversation with a frequent customer at the shop about the quality of film versus digital. I had told him that I was planning on doing the photography at my own wedding since it was going to be a tiny event of only 20 people. He was quite adamant that I be sure to take my photos on film and not digital. Aside from all the technical arguments one could make, he made one excellent point which I still cannot argue against: the longevity of film vs a digital file.    Nikon F100 w/ Nikon...

A Tale Of Nikon's Classic Design (Nikon FM & FE)

What comes to mind when I think of Nikon cameras is ‘classic design’. Their original S rangefinder and F reflex lines were things of beauty. Drawing inspiration from Bauhaus and Art Nouveau architectural design Nikon cameras were things of both function and beauty. And in 1977 they continued this trend and released one of my favourite 35mm film cameras of all time: the Nikon FM. Don’t let the small stature of the Nikon FM fool you into thinking that this camera cannot perform. Simple in design it packs everything one would need for basic film photography. Extremely well built with hundreds of individually hand crafted and hand...

Less 'Hassel' with the Hasselblad ArcBody

In the past, professional landscape photographers complained about the bulkiness of large format cameras. Architecture photographers also needed more perspectivecontrol for their shots. You can eliminate all those 'hassels' by using the ArcBody system. It is a Hasselblad camera that has all the movements: swings, rise, and fall. You have complete creative control of how you want your image to look. You can also use any Hasselblad lenses with it. Although very light, it is made of high-grade rugged materials so you can use it on big assignments and not worry about breaking it. Very easy to travel with, especially with...
