A very rare lens as not many were made. A transitional between the 1st version 9 element.
Actually this looks just like the 1st version and takes the same 14102P cap and 12501 shade.
Just does not have the deep rear element which is actually better for use on metering for the M cameras ( digital and film )
Still has the 1st series designation with the 11801 cat. #

A very rare lens. Many people pay x2-3 for the 9 element version but this is actually harder to find.
The 8 element with the 1st version body style, on a camera or deep rear cap you actually dont know if it is the 1st of 2nd version. Only from the rear element.
There were fewer made and these are perfect for digital and meter us as they dont have an issue with the deep rear element.
I recently sold one of these for $3695 which was without the front cap and not as crisp/fine condition.
Hard pressed to find another one as they dont come up often.
